REASON WHY WE DO THINGS IN CHURCH.
The reason why we do certain things in the
church is because it is scriptural. The church has veered off from the original
plan to such an extent, that when a church actually does what the scriptures
demand, it seems foreign and strange to our understanding.
Our sensibilities are so shocked by what is
scriptural, that we prefer to go back to the unscriptural ways of serving God,
because it pleases our natural senses. We have been so brainwashed by false
doctrines and incorrect ways to worship God and serve Him, that the truth is
foreign to our ears and to our eyes.
We have become prisoners of religious systems,
designed by men to suit men. Whether it is scriptural or not does not to
matter. We have trained our senses well to have an answer ready for every
unscriptural practice in the house of God. We get our defenses up when
confronted to change, because we have become defenders of religion, rather than
children of the living God. And this goes for all churches, Catholic, Evangelical,
Protestant, Pentecostal & Charismatic.
That is the reason why the apostolic ministry
has been revived by the Spirit of God, to bring reformation to the church that
is out of joint. Reformation brings confrontation and transformation to those who
are willing to change.
- We give
people opportunity to accept Christ, because the human will is involved. It is
necessary to do this publicly, because Jesus rebuked Nicodemus for secretly
coming to Him at night.
- We lay
hands on the sick in public, because this is what Jesus did and commanded His
disciples to do. He exposed the woman with an issue of blood who tried to get
her healing secretly from Him.
- We baptize
believers and not infants, because Jesus Himself was baptized at the age of
thirty by John the Baptist. Jesus said, ‘In this way we fulfill all
righteousness.’ He also said, ‘the scribes and Pharisees rejected the counsel
of God concerning them, by refusing to be baptized.’
- We speak
in strange tongues, because this is what happened on the day of Pentecost when
the Holy Spirit was poured out. They spoke in tongues and prophesied. Many of
the current manifestations that are associated with the Holy Spirit are
unscriptural and allow demons to manifest in meetings under the guise of the
‘work of the Holy Spirit’.
- We sustain
our shouts of praise and make a loud noise, because this is scriptural. This is
how the walls of Jericho
fell down.
- We clap
our hands and dance, because it is scriptural. David danced with all his might.
We are commanded to praise the lord in a dance. WE INTERPRET THE PORPHETIC
SONGS IN THE DANCE. We are commanded to clap our hands.
- We lift
our holy hands to God in worship, because it is scriptural.
- We stand
in His Holy Presence and sometimes bow before Him, because it is scriptural. Sometimes
we lie prostrate before Him, because it is scriptural.
- We rejoice
with exceeding joy, because we are commanded to do so.
- We exhort,
rebuke and instruct people with all boldness, because we have been told through
the word of God to do so. The apostolic rebuke speeds up the process of God in
a life if it is received. If it is rejected, it slows down the process of God
in a life.
- We wait
upon God in our worship services and scan the Spirit to know what He wants to
tell us. We sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, we instruct one another
through singing. Sometimes we worship God silently and quietly and sometimes
with sounds of thunder! Nature expresses itself in the same way towards the
Creator.
- We use
musical instruments to praise God, just like David did and commanded us to do.
- We take
notes and write down what is being preached and taught, because we pay
attention to what God is saying to us. We go home to meditate over our notes
and to pray over them. In this way we build the Word of God into our lives.
- We use
scribes to scribble down prophecies and to make notes on the overhead projector
so people can see the word of the lord and participate in the worship.
Sometimes scribes are at hand to write down what is prophesied to people to
give them the written document to take home with them.
- We use
banners and flags and other colorful ways to express what we are singing about.
There is prophetic significance to every color and every action. They are not
simply meant to entertain.
- We use the
terminology given in scripture to describe the functions in the body of
believers, like apostle, prophet, teacher, evangelist, pastor and teacher,
bishop, elder and deacons.
- We allow
women to operate in these functions as we believe in Christ that there is no
difference between male and female, except that women are not allowed to govern
without being in submission to a man who is her head.
- We serve
God with our tithes and offerings and we sometimes have special offerings for
projects.
- We have
communion every time the whole body meets together to remind ourselves of
Christs sacrifice and His resurrection.
- We allow
the operation of the gifts of the Spirit in our midst in order to confirm that
God is in our midst and that His genius is in the whole body of believers, not
in one person.
- We rejoice
with fear because God is great and demands respect.
- We believe
that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
- We launch
chosen people for chosen tasks, because we are a church that sends people out –
like they did in Jerusalem and Antioch. We receive the sent ones back as
they return and listen to their reports of what the Lord has accomplished
through them.
- We allow
children to worship and dance with us, because praise is perfected in the
mouths of babes.
- We believe
in the liberty of the Spirit, yet we do not use this liberty as a license to
misbehave. Our liberty is the liberty of Sons of God.
- We hold
long services because we like being together and we want to worship God
properly. We also want to give the Spirit enough opportunity to speak to us and
to cleanse us through the Word and through divine fellowship.
- We worship
God in Spirit and in truth, because God is a Spirit.
- We tape
the worship service and the teachings as well as the prophetic utterances so
that people can purchase the tapes and revise the words of the Lord at home.
- We pursue
holiness without which no man shall see God.
- We are
willing to suffer for Christ and the Gospel’s sake.
- We believe
God is, and He is a Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
